Madison Square Garden isn’t known as The World’s Most Famous Arena for nothing. As that nickname suggests, Madison Square Garden in Manhattan literally is the most famous arena of its kind. While there were previous locations for Madison Square Garden, the current version of the arena was built in the late 1960’s and is located between 31st and 33rd Streets. At a cost of $123 million, The Garden built and quickly became an important venue in New York.

The seating capacity for Madison Square Garden differs depending on what event is taking place. For basketball, the seating capacity is around 19,800. For hockey, that number is lowered to around 18,000. For concerts, Madison Square Garden can hold about 20,000 people.

Since Madison Square Garden doesn’t offer parking, you have to take that into consideration when visiting this venue.
